Weybridge sits at the heart of Elmbridge, a short distance from our own base in New Haw, and it is one of the areas we know best. The housing stock is unusually varied for a single town: substantial detached houses on the private estates around St George's Hill and Oatlands, Edwardian and Victorian villas closer to the centre, and streets of solid 1930s semis towards Brooklands that respond exceptionally well to extending.

That variety is the reason there is no single right answer to adding space in Weybridge. On the larger plots the question is usually one of quality and proportion, where a rear or wraparound extension has to hold its own against the existing architecture. On the 1930s stock nearer Brooklands, the side return and the original garage are almost always the most valuable underused space in the house, and converting or extending across them transforms the ground floor without touching the garden.

Elmbridge Borough Council determines planning applications across Weybridge, and parts of the town fall within conservation areas, Green Belt, or private estate covenants that sit alongside the planning system rather than inside it. Permission may or may not be required depending on the property, its history of previous additions and its precise designation, so we establish that position before any design work begins, and we prepare and submit the application where one is needed.

We bill weekly for work completed and signed off, with no large deposit at the outset, and every client receives a written progress update on the same day each week. For a project running through an occupied family home, knowing exactly what has been done and exactly what has been paid for matters more than any promise made at the start.
